About Us

MADE in Europe is a UK-registered charity (no. 1134415). Inspired by the Qur’anic teaching “Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change themselves”(13:11), we believe that we can empower Muslim communities to be at the forefront of the fight against global poverty, to challenge global norms and to become leaders of social change. We provide overseas volunteering opportunities and run campaigns on issues such as maternal health, climate change and trade justice. We also provide capacity-building services for Muslim charities and support for cross-faith initiatives in international development.

Ammalife is a UK-registered charity (no. 1120236) and its mission is to save mothers’ lives worldwide. Ammalife wants to stop women dying or being harmed during pregnancy and childbirth by putting systems in place that are simple, safe and cheap, and that we know work in the developing world. Ammalife draws on the expertise of professionals within women’s health, and those with experience in developing countries, bringing together ideas, evidence, resources, projects and training to where they are needed most.

This project is supported by UKaid from the Department for International Development (DFID). DfID is the part of the UK government that manages Britain’s aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. DfID is working to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the international targets agreed by the United Nations (UN) to halve world poverty by 2015. DfID works with governments of developing countries as well as charities, businesses and international bodies, including the World Bank, UN agencies and the European Commission. All our partners share our ambition to achieve the MDGs.
