Doctors Worldwide (DWW) was established in April 2000 to provide medical relief and aid to those who are in need without any access or means to basic medical care. DWW is running a campaign to raise funds to improve maternal care, to help support women during their pregnancies and ensure safe deliveries in maternity centres with midwives and birth attendants.

Make Women Matter
Make Women Matter is a campaign from Marie Stopes International which highlights the need to improve the lives of women around the world and to put an end to preventable deaths that are the result of pregnancy and childbirth. Make Women Matter brings five inspirational films told through the personal experiences of women in Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, South Africa and Uganda. Each film offers a unique insight into the life and death challenges faced by girls and women in poorer countries.
Muslim Hands – Motherkind
Muslim Hands – Motherkind
Muslim Hands have just launched Motherkind, a long-term initiative to provide essential pre-natal care, medication, advice and trained medical staff to new and expectant mothers in developing countries. There are lots of options for supporting this initiative on the website – including donating money to buy a midwives pack or new mother’s pack, or to help train a health worker. Muslim Hands has worked closely with At Our Mothers’ Feet to develop their packs and will continue to work with us in the coming months.

Oxfam is an international NGO which works with others to overcome poverty and suffering, in three interlinked areas: emergency response; long-term development work; and campaigning for lasting change. Oxfam and the Women’s Institute are working together to call on the UK government to keep its promises to reduce maternal deaths.

White Ribbon Alliance
The White Ribbon Alliance is an international coalition with members in 152 countries which pushes for change to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for women and newborns around the world. Since its launch in 1999, the White Ribbon Alliance has been amplifying the voices of women and their communities, and is now a leader among those holding governments and institutions to account for the tragedy of maternal mortality.

Women and Children First
Women and Children First (UK) is a UK based international development agency set up in 2000 to address the unacceptably high levels of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity in poor communities in the developing world. Since then it has established country programmes, in partnership with local and national agencies and governments, in Bangladesh, India, Malawi and Nepal.
